Okay, I’ll Bite

Who wants to tell me what is cool about Vox? I just noticed that somebody who I felt had a pretty good web-hide (I know, I know, but I just found Martin Fowler’s Bliki and am neologimatizing) got on the bandwagon.

Update Okay, so far I hear it is like blogger but with more privacy settings, has the same crappy comment model as MT and is supposed to make sharing media easier.

  • It’s like Blogger with more privacy settings. Doesn’t that just makes you squishy in the pants?

  • The only reason I use it is to share music with people easily that I don’t have to host. There is a WordPress plugin that will let you turn mp3s in to flash for your own blog, but you’re responsible for the bandwidth then, I believe.

My complaint about this feature on Vox is that they don’t have a play button right with the file on a post. You must go to a separate page to listen. Also, there is no way to associate cover art with a file after the fact. It must be embedded in the ID3 tag when it is uploaded. Since I don’t use iTunes, none of my files have that, which is a drag.

  • I signed up and what i thought was the most dissapointing is that you couldn’t build you own city with assembled pixel goodness for the design of your page.. that would have been revolutionary…. other than that, it’s for people who don’t know how to install wordpress.
